I don't know about anyone else, but nowadays I hardly have ANY use for gold/platinum, so I suppose ecto has become the primary currency for me, because there isn;t much I'm interested in under 100k.
I'm sure a lot of high end traders or people with lots of cash must do this too, so for us it doesn't really effect us too much when it comes to item prices because often we're happy to just pay 40 ecto for a VS whatever the ecto price is, and also sellers are very reluctant to lose cash because of ecto prices, which is why most items stay the same. However, it does mean that gold is now ALMOST pointless.
I suppose some people will totally disagree with this idea, but I think ectos are becoming more of a currency than gold, because you can use ectos for gold but not gold for ectos.
This means that gold is becoming much less needed (of course it is still needed for some things) so generally people don't want to sell their ectos for gold, just keep them for their next big minipet or rares collection.

Im sorry but you are saying people are being greedy in a game hold on please. The point of buying a game is to play through it for example COD MW2 the aim of the game is to play through the Campaign and level up prestiage. However in games such as GuildWars were it is a MMORPG the game never really ends soo players must find methods of which to improve themselves they do this by achieving titles, buying expensive armour and weapons.

To sum this up you cant be greedy in a game because in an mmorpg getting the best items and titles IS THE AIM OF THE GAME

I would hardly call it a MMORPG, even Arenanet does not call it that.

And do you realy need a unded kuna for 300e to play the game better?
The thing that fails in gw as it is right now is just that there really are not enough really unique items, the ones you want to keep instead of farming and selling them.
Just my opinion of course.
